If you could only take Orr or Gretzky...
obviously everyone would pick ___________ - keptupl8
Depends, in this fantasy is Orr still injury prone? |

Amazing how the simple goals are often the big killers, just trailing the play and the puck drops right to him in front of goal, I think it is a huge rap for Dale Hunter he had the guts to put Ovie on the bench because he knew what it would take to win the game, good on Hunter and the Capitals for manning up to the task. |

Too bad the Caps and Bruins don't have bloggers of their own. - keptupl8
The Caps blogger also blogs for the Canadiens.
Maybe Garth thought Hindle has a heavy workload? |

See that's got to be considered. How can you ignore it? Also, if you have Gretz you have to face the possibility that he's traded and your franchise never recovers. Never, ever recovers, even after numerous #1 draft picks.
there's a lot to think about. |

Yep. Still riding the wave, but it was cresting downward. The curse was just lingering. Now it's kicked in 100% |

IMO as a Gretzky fan, I'd rather build around Stevie Y or Messier over Orr or Gretzky.
And yes I know that wasn't the qustion. |

Great to see the Bruins go down. They act like the bully at the end of the street that is bigger than everyone in the neighborhood. They prey on the smaller players - sucker punch when the ref isn't looking or the linesman has a player tied up. Now that bully got a punch in the nose and will go home screaming to their mommy. |

For all the players and money Gretzky was traded for, Messier was traded for a better player than all of them. |

So you are going to build a team around a guy that does nothing after the age of 27.

Jimmy Carson did nothing in his career. He might be one of the biggest #2 overall busts of all time. |

lot of competition for that title
on the subject of page 10, it may turn out that Gretzky's greatest contribution to the world was his daughter, Paulina's twitter page

Bruins had a 2 on 1 with 7 minutes left in the third and tried to get cute by making the pass across and it was broken up, no shot on goal. A veteran like Knuble blocks a shot at the blue line (the damning blue line turnover) and just drives hard to the net and keeps the play simple. He causes havoc (and a mild case of interference) but those are the things that happen when you get the puck to the cage.
Win or lose Seidenberg is a terrific defensemen. He hardly gets enough credit for what he does, and I think Chara gets slightly too much. If you told me that there was going to be a hard forecheck on a defensemen going back for the puck and that the forechecker would catch the defensemen; I would want Seidenberg to be the puck handler 10 times out of 10 over Chara. Its not easy to do but if you can get on Chara and pressure him he is prone to the panic turnover.
I thought Seidenberg was the best defensemen in the Bruins Cup run. |

I'll take 7 years and his 100+ pts per year of Bobby Orr any day.
Then throw paper at O'Reilly-
